Navratri Day 2: Worship of Maa Brahmacharini

Story of Maa Brahmacharini


According to Hindu mythology, Maa Brahmacharini was an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. In her pursuit to marry Lord Shiva, she undertook severe penance for thousands of years, surviving only on fruits, leaves, and ultimately water. This intense tapasya (austerity) pleased Lord Shiva, who eventually accepted her as his consort. Her story symbolizes determination, sacrifice, and the power of devotion.

“Vande Vanchita Kamarth Chandrardha Krit Shekharam, Japamalakamandalu Dhara Brahmacharini Shubham”

2. Beej Mantra


“Om Aim Kleem Sauh”
